Crofton Church of England Parish covers the communities of Stubbington and Hill Head which lie between Southampton and Portsmouth. There are two church buildings in the parish; the larger and newer is Holy Rood while the smaller, older building is St Edmund’s (sometime known as Crofton Old Church).
The vision of the parish summarises what motivates us:
- Our Identity
We are A Parish Church and a Resourcing Church
- Our Purpose
The parish’s purpose is To help individuals and households take steps into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ, wherever they start from.
- Our Aim
We aim to prayerfully trust God to double the size of our worshipping community in the next 5-7 years
(You can out more about our vision here>>>> )
Between the two church buildings within the parish we are able to offer a variety of styles of worship, from the modern, family orientated, 9:30am Holy Rood service, to more traditional style at St. Edmund’s at various times on Sunday mornings, to the modern, but with more space to meet God, Ascent service at 6:30pm at Holy Rood.
We are fortunate to have a good number of children and young people in the church and there is a full programme of groups for them. There are also a number of small adult groups who meet in peoples homes as well as other groups who meet during the week.
