Please join us for our 2020 Community Harvest Festival. In this difficult year, we want to celebrate together and support those in need. Our aim is to have some fun in the community and to collect as much as we can for Fareham and Gosport Basics Bank.
Holy Rood and St. Edmund’s Churches are delighted to be working with Crofton Lions and Love Stubbington shops to organise these harvest events.
Craft Activities at Home
Keep and eye on this page and the Crofton Community Harvest Festival Facebook page for craft ideas for the whole family. Some are small, but there will also be instructions for making a scarecrow to put in your front garden for all to see. Why not put some photos of you making the craft and the completed item onto the Crofton Community Harvest Festival Facebook page?
Primary School Assemblies
The Crofton Parish Children’s Team have been busy preparing a video harvest assembly that will be shown in the villages two primary schools. If you have children or grandchildren in primary school, do ask them about the assemblies.
Drop Off Points for the Fareham and Gosport Basic Bank Donations
After a spell when they had to operate through other agencies at the start of lockdown, the Fareham and Gosport Basic Bank is now functioning from their own premises again – and unfortunately the need is as great as ever.
The Fareham and Gosport Basics Bank is a project run by a Christian Charity called Friends of the Homeless in Fareham and Gosport (Registered number 1041277). Their aim is to provide support to anyone in the community who is going through a short term crisis and who, quite simply, haven’t got enough money to buy food for themselves and their families. That support comes through the generosity of local people who provide food and toiletries, support them financially and through volunteering with them.
Many shops in the village have offered to be a Drop Off point for your donations, any of them will gratefully receive your gift. Look out for this poster in their window:
Crofton Lions will also be holding a stall in the village on the weekend of 3-4 October. Do say “Hi” and leave them a donation.
The Fareham and Gosport Basics Bank are only able to accept and distribute non-perishable goods. This is a list of items they were in need of in September:
Please drop your donations off by Monday 12th October.
